Completes assessment and admission of patients requiring surgical procedures or treatments including appropriate consents. Provides Phase I, Phase II and Phase III assessment, intervention and evaluation of patients. Responsible for coordination of flow of patients from admission to discharge. Adheres to all aspects of management and leadership as described in Clinical Nurse II role description. Participates in committees dealing with topics concerning management of patient care
Valid California RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS. BSN or MSN required. Certification in CPAN/CAPA Preferred.
Ability to identify and assess patient care needs using the nursing process.
Skilled in setting priorities, organizing workload, planning patient care and administering direct care.
Ability to function in an emergency, with demonstrated competency in airway management.
Skills and knowledge of EKG, hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive drugs.
Ability to assess and meet educational needs of patients and families.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to work the posted work schedule.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, and excellent internal and external customer skills.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including variable work shifts and ability to move over 25 lbs.
Must have at least 2 years of recent PACU or ICU experience.
