Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, the primary responsibilities of the RN in the TRU (Transitional Recovery Unit) include the direct nursing care of patients, utilizing the nursing process; the development and application of leadership, management, and communication concepts, teaching of patients and staff; maintenance of professional standards; ability to assume the charge nurse role for the unit in the stead and/or absence of administrative staff. Participate with health team members for problem solving in area management. Assist in the development and implementation of standard, method and tools to improve patient care. Candidate must be able to function with a minimum of supervision and be highly motivated to provide excellent care and patient advocacy.
Qualifications

Clinical skills applicable to nursing specialty, Med/Surg/tele.
Writing skills to accurately document the operative procedure with all interventions; i.e., drug and supply dispensing, equipment measurements and team member presence.
Skills in setting priorities, organizing workload effectively and integrating multiple assignments with multilevel personnel.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrated ability to direct nursing practice and prioritize problem solving.
Skill in speaking the English language with excellent medical/surgical terminology.

Candidate must also be telemetry certified.
BSN or MSN degree required. Current and valid California RN license required.
